cVision™
Medical Solutions is a biomedical R&D start-up that
specializes in breakthrough ultrasound solutions. Headquartered
in Baltimore, MD, cVision™ was founded in 2007 by
a team of Johns
Hopkins University researchers and graduates for the
development and commercialization of its flagship product,
cVein™,
which offers a noninvasive method to measure central
venous pressure (CVP).
cVein™
addresses a significant unmet need by giving physicians
the capability to measure CVP quickly and safely using
ultrasound technology and surface pressure measurement.
The
prototype device and measurement procedure (patent
pending) were developed by Johns Hopkins researchers in
partnership with the Department
of Biomedical Engineering
and the Johns
Hopkins Bayview Medical Center.
The founders of cVision™ are actively working to
develop the novel technology behind cVein™ further.
They have authored a number of peer-reviewed
publications to generate awareness in the scientific
community. cVision™ has also been awarded with development
funding by the National
Collegiate Inventors & Inventors Alliance (NCIIA)
through their Advanced E-Team Grant program.
Human clinical trials are currently underway at the Johns
Hopkins Bayview Medical Center to generate data that will
support the development of the next-generation cVein™
prototype. The commercial potential of cVision™
has also been recognized at numerous competitive venues
such as the GSAS Harvard Biotechnology Business Plan Competition
and the Greater Baltimore Technology Council MoshPit!
Business Plan Competition (Press
Room). |
